    Re: New Strange Ball Python

Black back is not genetic unless is is a het red axanthic I believe. There are normals out there with black backs that may or may not throw black-backed offspring, but it does not make them morphs. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it goes.

Here's my "normal black back" (paid $35)

That being said, I really like the normal black backs. Genetic or not, you have a very pretty snake there. Congrats on the new addition and good luck with the dinker project in the future.

edit: Another thing, why are you using 2 accounts for making posts?

    Re: New Strange Ball Python

I could sell you a turd dressed up in Armani, but in the end is still just a turd.

The thing is man, if you paid 145 dollars for him and you think it was worth it, then you got a good deal. But with the years of experience people on this forum have, and countless posts, a lot of us know what were talking about.

Reduced pattern and Black Backs are not known morphs. Raise him up and see what happens though, HEY, you never know. But DO NOT be disappointed if you don't hatch out the next best thing.

    Best of luck to you

    Re: New Strange Ball Python

I have seen a few people with genetic black backs unless I'm mistaken. John Stranahan aka Jasballs, has some he works with that he produces black back albinos with. As for reduce patterns being known morphs what about Tigers? I think Casey Lasik works with those.

    Are those still unproven projects?

Some blackbacks are genetic. cv exotics and jasballpythons are working with genetic blackback albinos. which make full white backs on the albinos. they are codoms I believe. Nice snake you wont know anything until you breed it.

Nice looking normal - AND, can you please not reply to every post with the same reply? You only need to say it one time, you wouldn't pay $145 for a normal, mom and dad were reduced and black back - got it!

I've got a couple of normals that look exactly like him!

First - watch the language. Secondly - he's not a PROVEN genetic animal. So for all intents and purposes, he's a normal. These are also normals which are in my collection that are reduced pattern and black back:

You can be angry that you paid $145 for a normal ball python, but don't be angry at those who are trying to offer you their experienced opinion.

That's first one's ugly, Robin. You should send it over here.

When I hear the words, "unproven genetics" I think captive hatch. And this IS the season..

But like has been said. If you thought the price was fair and you like the snake, then you got a good deal.
