What I'm not understanding is why you took delivery of your snake without even having your tank set up for it. You don't buy your snake then go get a setup for it. You get the environment perfect for it, THEN you bring your snake home.
The way I see it, there is a string of absolute No-No's that took place that all contributed to the loss of your new pet. When I transport snakes in pillowcases, I double knot the opening and then use baling wire below the knots to ensure there is absolutely no room for the snake to escape.
I sincerely hope you find your pet, but more than that, I really hope you've learned a valuable lesson about all this. On a whim, I'd listen to your local radio stations too. You never know, but if your snake escaped from your car, it's entirely possible it's made it's presence known and it might be making your local news as well. Every once in awhile we have that happen around here. It's just a thought.
