NRIP? Is this a new HR669?

The links in the OP's first post lead to a very detailed outline of the NRIP. Apparently, some people see evil and doom in this proposed attempt at VOLUNTARY self-regulation.

Not to start a war, but I hope the bolded section was not directed towards me. I mulled over that statement for a few days now, not sure how I felt about it. For the record, I do not see evil and doom with NRIP, nor do I see "salvation" in it either. As I stated in my original post, I was still reading through the materials when I posted. I am not politically savvy so I ask questions about what I do not fully understand. I wanted to find out what others think as well as to satisfy my own curiosity in regards to NRIP. After reading through and reading what others have posted here and on other forums, I am standing on the fence.

There are certain things that I agree with, things outlined that I already do on my own (its common sense, but then again some people are seriously lacking in that department!), but I also do not see myself volunteering for this program. The fees outlined in the program leave out the small breeder/pet owner like me. Does this make me a bad person? No. Do I think people who will join the program are better than others? No. Do I think that people would like to join to ensure that there is a “standard” to follow? Yes I do.

If your statement was a blanket statement, then I apologize for the misunderstanding. If, however, it was directed towards me, don't make assumptions on what people post or ask questions about. Asking questions are how people learn, get informed on something they are unsure or know nothing about and that is something that should not be belittled or criticized, especially now, when so many outside entities are trying to “ruin” the pet industry any way they can.

I hope we can make a united front to save our pets/hobbies/businesses. Thank you for your time and have a good day.

You posted the link to Crutchfield's screed and shared the information - I had no idea one way or another where you stood on the issue.

In other words - it was a blanket statement.
