    hr669?

So I've been out of the loop for a little while. Took a little vacation down to Arizona. Which by the way has some wild exotics stores!

Anyways, I don't see as much fuss over HR669 now. Did it get knocked down?

    Re: hr669?

The hearing on April 23rd went well for us because HR 669 didn't get moved forward as written.

It's currently being re-worked and it will be back on the table sooner rather than later.

There is a presentation being held today in DC by proponents for HR 669 laying out plans to Congressional staffers about the future of HR 669. I'll try to have information about what was said at that meeting tonight on the NOHR669.com blog.

HR 669 has picked up additional co-sponsors since the hearing and this past Friday, there was an article published on www.sciencemag.org pointing to the Pet Industry as a vector for the spread of pandemics throughout the United States. The article suggested that HR 669 would be the perfect piece of legislation to stop any potential spread of disease by the importation and distribution of non-native pets. Nice right? Good timing with the swine flu all over the news. Any guesses as to what organizations the people that wrote the article work for?

Stay informed, stay vigilant. This is far from over. I met with PIJAC on Friday for several hours and information is coming shortly about where things stand.

I'll have some updated on NOHR669.com by the end of the day as well.

Just started getting info on this one over the weekend and I haven't personally been involved. I know that USARK probably has a plan and they would be the best place to look for immediate guidance and steps to fight it, but I'll be talking with PIJAC later on today and it's on my list of things to ask about.
