Re: Not a good enclosure!
And some people wonder why they want to ban reptiles? I'm sorry to everyone, but it's animals like this that make me wish we could at least get some permits set up. Or maybe a licensing situation to carry ball pythons. One license for all the snakes, and a separate one for breeding. I wish they would just ban pet stores from carrying animals and let the breeders take care of it. Oh, wait, what would happen with all the tax money? It makes me sad

I don't really think poor reptile care is why people want to ban reptiles. I think it is the whole "letting them loose" or "big killer snakes" thing that gets to people.
There are tons of mistreated dogs and cats but those aren't going to be banned any time soon :/

I understand, but part of mistreating them is not being able to take care of them and turning them loose. Well, yeah, my statement is a little off, but I still think we should try to take hr669 and turn it into something different. Here we have to have a license to breed any dog, and I think mistreated pit bulls are a good example of what can happen. I think i was just putting what i think should happen.

Re: Not a good enclosure!
I was really nice at first. I told him the snake would be happier with 2 smaller hides, a different light! and t-stat and some humidity( he didn't have a hygrometer at all and the top is just screen.) I offered to help him set it up. He said I didn't know anything about it, so I told him I read alot about them and I get on b-p.net at least once a day. I gave him the site and said any question he wanted to ask, the people on this site would answer it, and he could get better versed. Then he said he was gonna waste his time on the internet with a bunch of nerds (keep in mind he thought he was pretty cool), But I was getting angry so I said "Do what you want. It won't make any difference to you if it dies, or sits in there and suffers." Consequently we didn't buy his couch.

Re: Not a good enclosure!
You could tell him about H.R. 669 and tell him that it passed and that he will get a big fine for keeping the snake :-) and ask him to take it off his hands so he doesnt get a fine. Give him like $20 for it and take it home and give it a proper home, just my opinion.
