    You'll want a scale that measure in grams. I use a digital cooking scale that I picked up at Walmart for about $20. Reptilebasics.com also has a nice selection of scales.

    It is a good idea to keep track of your snakes weight to make sure he is growing and healthily maintaining weight.

    I weight my snakes every 2 weeks before feeding.

    Keeping weight is a good thing to do but it becomes important if your snake decides to fast for a long period of time. Then you'll want to know how much weight your snake is loosing during the time he's not eating, to decide whether corrective action is necessary or not.
