Pastel Question

If you were to breed a Lemon/normal pastel x Blonde pastel, what would you get? How would the supers look?

All pastels, (lemon, grazini, jungle, normal, blonde, etc.) are pastels.

They all have the same genetics, they were just named or originated by different people. When crossed, they create normals, pastels, and supers. It doesn't matter which one, they are all the same. A pastel.

Edit: Some lines may look nicer, but they are still the same genetics. But don't let the line names sway you, I've seen good examples in many, and bad in all of them. The supers would perhaps look nicer with a nicer pastel cross, but it's still a super pastel. :]

just an fyi you'll need to have a bumblebee or killerbee to produce more killerbees....Super Pastel X Spider will not produce killerbees

I think the pastel 'lines' can all look really good and they can all also look like browned out crap.
IMO the normal genes that the pastel is combined with make all of the difference. A blushing normal x nice pastel makes for great pastels, and a dirty pastel x blah normal will make crappy pastels.

Once we have the desired genetic mutation in a BP we have to consider the overall genetic makeup of the animal and how the 'normal' traits affect that mutation.
When I was a kid we used to breed 'show quality' poultry and actually did quite well. Its all about breeding for a group of specific traits, so keep back your best stock and breed from those; you'll end up with amazing animals.

Great post...The more selective breeding we get going on as collectors, the better the available stock will be to sell. I'm all about collecting some great looking animals, even if it means I can't afford as many, just so everything I have will be HAWT
