Colin, be careful with what you say... before you know it you don't have any carpets.

As far as scrubs go, I know a guy that has one, and its temperment differs on a daily basis. They're beautiful, but I can't really get another snake that gets big, my Yellow does me just fine. Otherwise I would get a scrub.

Do you have a snake that you would bet 100 bucks it would never bite you. That is how you get bit in the back if the head. Ya I guess its funny, I am not sure it is fall out of my chair funny. I don't see it as funny or not funny, I don't really look at getting bitten as much of a big deal as it just comes with keeping most Morelia species you are going to get bitten, this was an instance I got caught slipping. Better than getting nailed in the face. I am glad it made you laugh though.

aww man, I didn't mean any offense with that comment. I lean back in my chair and I keep my feet propped up, and when I read it, I let go and fell backwards. Yes I have 2 snakes that I don't think would bite me, well hold up, I'll put money on one, the other one I've only had for a short time and she just hisses at me. I'd bet my 1200 Ninja that my Yellow Anaconda wouldnt bite me.

No snake is trust worthy. No if, ands, or buts. They're not domesticated animals, and do not recognize us as "family" or part of your group in the way a companion animal would.... It would be a very painful mistake to think otherwise. There are some tolerances when you consider the snakes size, strength, toxicity (if it is venomous) etc.

The Scrubs I've kept were all bar necks, and were definitely the sharpest pythons I've dealt with, hands down. They watch your every move...turn their head and all when you shift. They aim for facial strikes unless you try and restrain them, when they do get agitated.

Don't under estimate their strength either. For being the most slender giant Python, they can reaaaally put up a fight. They have some KO power to them. Trust me.

No doubt. Everybody is different though. I trust my Annie more then I trust just about anybody. I'm sure this will get me critized but I'm not worried about it. I'll take my Annie out and ill hold her and let her roam through my hands, then ill close my eyes for a bit, and she stays put by me, usually she lays on my chest. The only reason I let her freeroam sometimes is because there is NO way out of my room, the door goes all the way to the floor. I'll lay her down on my head sometimes and she slither around, I even rub my nose on top of her head frequently while im holding her. I know if I get bit its my fault, so I won't be mad, but I just honestly don't see her biting. I know everybody has different opinions on snakes, but my anaconda is just one I trust that much. Also it may just be because shes useto it, I take her out every day, Feeding is on Friday afternoon, I take her out her tank and put her in a seperate enclosure and ill thaw out a adult mouse and wiggle it around and she grabs it within a second or two and starts the process of eating it, well after shes held it for awhile in her coils rather. I let her be the rest of that day, Saturday, and Sunday, then I'll start handling her back on Monday and everyday until Friday afternoon when I feed her. I've even accidentally made the mistake of forgetting to wash my hands after dealing with mice because I was attempting to do other maint. on my tarantula & scorpion enclosures, so I totally forgot to wash my hands. Thats why I believe she wouldnt bite me, that and I've had her since a week and a half after she was born.

Exercise intelligence...not stupidity. Getting out is one thing, but you getting critically hurt is another. I don't care how confident you are in your handlings...simple slip-ups, and overlookings are what get people injured, or killed. No snake is trust worthy. Period. I don't care how "tame" you believe your Anaconda is, or how "cuddly" it is...it will never be a companion animal, and will never be trustworthy of such undertakings. Letting yourself be lulled into a false sense of security is how you'll get hurt. You get hurt, you give the responsible giant owners and keepers a bad name, as well as the rest of the hobby.

Well being the fact shes only 2ft. I seriously doubt she could actually cause me any harm. Now don't get me wrong when she gets bigger I will be more careful with her. I've had really good luck with snakes as far as I've owned any, or handled for that matter.

Seems like a fact you left out just to make yourself look like a hard ---.

I do stand behind that no snake is trustworthy. The question should NEVER be "if" I get bit, it's just a matter of "when". You're beloved pet might get a smell of a mouse and she will no longer be this tame beast you own. I have snakes that won't bite, but they have teeth and they can. Don't put it past them. I'm gonna go a little off topic and apply the teeth statement to dogs, cats, any animal. Upset them enough, or make a mistake and it can happen.
