Re: Checking to see who has membership to the Non-Feeding-Snake club.

My hognose is still not eating... 6 weeks now.

Setting up a vet appointment... just to be sure.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Ooh, can I join? I have a girl who is going on a year of nothing... She was around 1800ish grams when it started and is only down to about 1600 now, almost a year later. It's frustrating to say the least, but I know she's still doing ok. Just debating with myself on when it may be time to assist feed the big 'un... And if I can't get her to eat within the next couple months, I'll be looking to rehome her to someone who may have better luck getting her feeding... And I really don't want to have to do that. She's got such a nice banded-reduced pattern...

My normal and pastel haven't eaten since September.

At least late week they stuck their heads out for a sniff. I guess they didn't like the smell.

Re: Checking to see who has membership to the Non-Feeding-Snake club.

Fun thread, in a "mutual support" kind of way.

I'm in the club too - Been there for about 3-4 weeks now.

I keep offering, she smells and turns away. I'm not too worried, but I think I might throw her on the scale just to see how much weight she's lost. If any.

I offer her a smaller-than-usual rat, and when she refuses, i usually give the rat to my female corn - she refused for the first time 2 days ago!

My MBK had been refusing for about a month and a half and he just snapped out of it a couple weeks ago. I'm starting him off with just one food item, but im sure in a few more weeks he'll be back to his piggy self.

    good luck to you all!

Don't give up just yet. Bruce has one that was off feed for a year and a half. I don't think they will starve themselves to death. But, a vet visit is always a good thing just to give us some peace of mind if nothing else.

    We're right here with ya!

I think this thread puts our lack of hysteria in regards to threads that proclaim "HELP SNAKE HAS NOT EATEN IN TWO WEEKS!!!! into perspective.

-Groans.- Three weeks since any of my bigger kids have eaten. Ophi, my normal female sniffs, but then turns away and then expects to be picked up afterward. Lucius sniffs, sniffs, sniffs, and then turns away. Even Hadrian, my garbage can, sniffs and turns his nose up.

At least Regan is eating. She's almost 300 grams now. O_o Cow.
