I used to work a production job where the pep talk every morning was "there are 100 people outside that gate that want your job, I would like the opportunity to give it to them"
6 - So that school shooting where the kid graduated last year and came back and shot like 15 people today or yesterday, never happened?
7 - A boss in a bad mood scaring his employees means a bad boss. A boss should conduct himself in the same manner no matter the mood. professional, not likey a moody spoiled child. I have dealt with enough of them.
and finally that pep talk? Ever heard of morale? Constantly threatening employees makes them steal, work slower, badmouth the company, call in more, etc etc etc.
Not saying that you can't tell an employee that he can't have his cell phone, but disagreeing with some of your other points.
Worst manager ever? Worst of the worst, a manager at a well known greeting card company that guilted a guy into coming into work the day his wife and kids died in a fire.
