The story doesn't have a happy ending, I'm afraid.



Thanks all for the advice and for trying to help, unfortunately ignorance is going to go ahead and reign supreme and there is another dead snake in the world.



I'm pretty disheartened here.

They called animal control - who came and tried to pull it out with a hook - but since it was wrapped up in the couch they were hurting it. It struck at one of them and they decided it was a dangerous wild animal and that it wasn't safe to take it out alive.

I'm still not sure. It looked like an RTB - but I don't know how many look like that - that is just the one I'm familar with.

I was arguing about them killing it so they made me leave before they had it all the way out.

I wish I could have gut the couch - the lady is the one that called animal control and said that the snake was going to try to kill her and she wanted it out.

Poor snake.

EDIT: I tried to tell them it wasn't wild - I live in western NY where it is like 10 degrees out - we don't have snakes in the wild that big that live outside.

I am sorry Hun. I can imagine how you feel, I got all excited and I am not even there. Sucks people are stupid.
