I wonder what is a "normal growth rate" for a mainland retic? I was talking to a breeder and he said if he has one that he wants to breed he feeds aggressively and can have a nice size girl of 16 feet by year 1. I think that is not healthy but neither is not offering enough food. I have a chart I plan on fallowing.
Geeeeeez. 16’ at one year old? 5’-6’ is considered average for a yearling mainland retic (from what I’ve been told), and the biggest I’ve heard of is 9’-10’ when power fed. 14’ of growth in one year (assuming 2’ hatch length) seems impossible. Maybe by 2 if you really power feed, but 16’ seems more like a 3-4+ year old’s size.

Anyways good luck! Glad to hear the wait is almost over. Be ready for one monster of a feeder once she gets some food in her, unless she’s a rare sweetie like my River, she is going to want some food after all that maintenance feeding.
