So here i was so proud of my gang for being the laid back awesome eaters and Luna the dumerils has to ruin the streak. So today, i decided to give a shot at small weaned rats to all the little kids and they all went bananas for them. Gina came flying out of the back to grab her rat, Rango had to be pushed back using his hide as a shield lol, Louie popped out from under his aspen like a jack in the box and came flying forward for dinner.....and then there was Luna.....she came up to the front thinking "yeehaw, its dinner time!!'. Well i dangled a rat in front of her and her eyes got huge and she tagged it 3 times and then took off greased lightning to the back of the cage lol. I chased her around and she kept tagging it and running so i guess she really hates rats. So i thought, hey maybe i can scent it and throw it in a big with a couple mice thawing. Yeah that didnt work. Ok lets rub the mouse all over the rat. Nope that didnt work. Ok, screw it, im throwing down a sheet of printer paper and throwing 2 mice and the rat on it and leaving. So what happens, Luna picks up the mouse i didnt rub with the rat and started eating it. There is still the mouse rubbed with the rat and the rat. The story will continue in a few lol.
It's so sad when you can convert a BP over from mice to rats in the first try and even succeed in getting a JCP switched from live mice to FT mice to FT rats but you cant get a dumerils to switch. God help me if i got a mouser. She's going to eat like a dozen mice a feeding when she is older
