Went to the new Lansing expo today. It was pretty small, but very clean and there were some very nice people and vendors there. I sincerely hope this expo takes off and continues to grow in a good way. I will certainly go back!
Annnnnd of course, something just HAD to come home with me! Funny story actually - we'd been there for almost 2 hours and had seen everything (we thought) and met a few faces and chatted so we were heading out when we caught my good friend, Dave, and gave him and his family our raffle tickets. He asked me if I'd seen the amazing Hypo Leopard over at one of the tables and I was like "WHAT??? NO!!" So I hustled over to the table I'd missed. Wow that was a stunning Hypo Leopard!
And guess what was in the box next to him? An absolutely gorgeous female Hypo het Leo with red eyes and lovely tail and also 66% het albino! OMG. She was already marked at a steal and she was one of the seller's holdbacks for obvious reasons. I had bought a cartful of f/t rats so I didn't have much cash left, but I was head over heals in love and could not resist making an offer. I was very apologetic and explained how much I loved her but I only had about half his asking price in cash with me and I meant absolutely no offense, but.... He took it!!! What a wonderful guy! This was Bobby at BBC Exotics and he was so amazing to work with! Loves his snakes and loves to see them go to people who really care. I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat and this baby is perfect in every way. Breeders like this really help support the hobby. I don't mean that everyone should give their snakes away or that Bobby or anyone else should do this every time - but once in a while, when the right buyer comes along, it is ok to make a spectacular deal. I will remember the favor and pay it forward myself one day.
So here she is - my new 2013 Hypo 100% het Leopard 66% het Albino BCI, Pheonix.....
Sorry for the really crappy cell phone pics, but I didn't want to do more until after she's settled in.
She is very curious and polite - just wants to say HI to the camera.
And this pic, although very grainy, actually shows off her colors the best. She is very red and I LOVE the tail pattern.
Enjoy and thanks for looking!!![]()
