If you used Paypal I'd go ahead and file a claim to get the process started. It won't hurt him in any way as long as it's resolved amicably, but it'll protect you in case he does try to cut and run.

Bam. Exactly what i would have done/recommended. Paypal leans in favor of the buyer. If the seller cannot make good, or resolve the situation that is satisfactory to the buyer, Paypal will get you your money back. It happened once to me.
