i thought i had remembered seeing a thread on this at some point in time but could not find it through the search engine. the washout "gene"... what is it..? is it real? is it a marketing ploy? it isn't on worldofballpythons.. even the almighty google didn't yield much information. there's an ad right now on fauna (not the first one i've seen) for a pastel lesser calico "washout" clearly stating it's a 4 gene animal. it was my understanding that when calicos are mixed with multiple other genes the CALICO gene has a tendency to wash the snake out, but now we have claims of another gene being at play.. are they claiming it's a hidden gene that some calicos happen to have? i would have believed it to be the higher quality calicos that caused more of the washout effect and not an extra gene. can anyone clear this up for me?
