Today I took in a burmese python that is in horrible shape. Looking at him makes my heart break. He came in through my local herpetological society, but as the board member with the most space and biggest cage available I agreed to take him in. The herp society's recommended vet was kind enough to volunteer his services, all we have to pay for is medication. This poor boy has sepsis but there is a chance he will make it. It makes me mad that people will let their animals reach this point. My vet thinks the key to his survival will be keeping him hydrated and making sure he gets his antibiotics. Please keep this poor boy in your prayers. I am really hoping he will pull through.
I have affectionately dubbed him Myanmar. I am going to be working hard to help him recover.
Tank setup for now (I know it's not perfect, but I had less than 24 hours to prepare):
The owners finally asked for help when they noticed puss in his eyes. He's so weak the vet said he didn't even put up much of a fight as he was trying to drain the puss from his eyes.
