I post threads like this rather often but that's because I suck at making decisions XD
So I'm planning to work with a local breeder as an externship next month, and he'll hopefully be taking me to a few of the expos in the area. And even if he doesn't, I'm planning on roadtripping to one of them with a friend of mine. The plan is to get my first ball morph, and if I can afford it, something else too. So I have two decisions to make.
For the ball morphs, I like all of these equally, and price is not an issue. I also haven't decided what sex I'm going to get yet. But I'm planning to make this morph my first breeder in a few years, so I'm wondering what will be the smartest move there. Hopefully going to start up a business in a few years, so I don't want to get something whose offspring people just...won't want. Anyway, this is what I'm looking at:
- Albino
- Bumblebee
- Pewter
- Lesser
- Ghost (probably het for something else)
As for other animals (and this is totally tentative), it will most likely just be a pet. If I end up liking it enough, I'll breed it in the future, but for now there would be no plans to do so. Looking for something easy to care for and docile, since I hope to do educational programs some day. I know all individuals are different, but better safe than sorry. I've done basic research on all of these; not gonna go in-depth until I narrow it down at least a little bit.
- Nelson's milksnake
- Sinaloan milksnake
- Desert kingsnake
- Cali kingsnake morph
- Some kind of Pituophis species
- Crested gecko (really iffy on this one, since I'm getting out of lizards, but these guys have grown on me)
- Chaco golden knee tarantula
- Mexican red knee tarantula
- Axlotl (may just get one for display...but probably not)
So yeah, sorry if this is a bit spammish but I haven't been able to decide for a month or two. So what do you guys think?
