So I have read a couple of threads on here...
How should "probes" be placed???
We now have 2 "Thermometer" probes as well as 2 "Thermostat" probes.(one temp and one thero for each side)
They are inside the tank as of right now but our Snickers moves them around and sometimes a probe will end up on top of a small pile of aspen substrate making the reading less than accurate.
I have read things on here about probe placement(inside vs outside of tank) but we don't have the "sticky" heaters....we have these:
h
They are not "sticky" heat pads but they work well for us.
We have had all probes placed INSIDE of Snicker's tank but they do get moved and we are going on vacation on Tuesday.
Snickers will get her water changed and any poo/urates cleaned up when we are gone because my boyfriend's brother will be here...he is not scared of snakes but won't handle Snickers either.(and I will be on the phone with him every step of the way when he accesses Snicker's tank)
Anyway here is a picture of Snickers tank(I had to turn the light on in the house which she hated to get this picture):
I just worry about temps when we are gone and that is why we purchased a second zilla temp controller but Snickers moves all the thermometer and temp probes all the time and they end up on piles of aspen bedding.
Should we secure them inside her tank with a glue gun or should we place them under the tank between the tank and the heat mats????
(Oh BTW the big lamp on top has a ceramic heat emiter bulb and that is not being used and we only have it in case one of the heat pads stop working.....the other smaller lamp has a infrared bulb and that is just to peak in on Snickers at night and is usually on for less than 30 seconds)
