Well, I know some people keep their corns on newspaper since it's cheaper and easier to clean, but I prefer aspen. It is true that most corns, especially when they're younger/smaller like the one you're getting, really love to burrow. I would definitely recommend aspen (any brand is fine) and use about an inch to an inch and a half of it on the bottom of the tank.

And yup, they like 2 similar cave hides just like ball pythons. Either the ones you can buy at a pet store, or what I use are opaque (dark colored) plastic bowls from the dollar store with an opening cut in the side. Just make sure the edges aren't too sharp.
