Just luck of the draw. I have 3 snakes that have that yellow stomach and high yellow sides. The one in the pic is het for pied, but does not have any pied markers.

One of the things I've noticed about all of our YBs, is that none of them have bright white edging on the side panels (alien faces) like yours does. It's usually more of a yellow or gold color when they're young, fading to a cream or tan color as they mature. There may be exceptions, but none I've seen myself.

I'll post a few pics of some of ours to show you what I'm referring to. I'll also post a few belly shots to illustrate the difference there. I hope this will help you.

the 5th and 6th pictures are a yb??? i love the top color of that one...amazing...i love how dark it is. im a BIG FAN of bright high contrast albinos but that one is amazing

    Thank you!

The first 3 pictures are of an '07 captive hatched YB male. The next 2 pics are of an '08 captive hatched YB female, and the last is of an '06 captive bred YB male.

    Wicked pics Louis!
I have a male that looks alot like your little female, and it makes it hard to see what a 'normal' YB looks like, but your point about the lack of white borders is bang on. I hadn't noticed that before but now that you mention it I think YBs aren't going to be a head scratcher anymore.
Thanks for the great info with great pics!!!
    Cheers

Well, to muck it up a bit, here is one of my Yellowbellies.

They CAN have speckled bellies, but it is not the norm.
