    Pinstripe potential

So I have been shopping around for a boyfriend for my female pinstripe, since I'm hoping to breed her next season. For the longest time I was set on getting a smoking male pastel to take a stab at bright lemonblasts (which I LOVE), but I've not been able to find any older male pastels for sale that meet my standards (of course many 08s are nice, but who knows if they'll brown out!). I would want a bold yellow male that retains those colours, so I could make bold yellow lemonblasts and not the dinky brown ones I see sometimes.

So, I've started looking into other possibilities in case I can't find a pastel male that catches me. The jigsaw (pin x mojave) seem kind of neat, and I love nice mojaves, but I don't know how they age. The kingpin (pin x lesser) is also pretty cool, again don't know how they age. I'd like to stay away from the spider morph because of the wobbles thing, so spinners are out (don't really care for them much anyways). What do you guys think? Are there any pinstripe crosses that you really dig? I was trying to come up with something that maybe hadn't been done yet, or hadn't been done much. I don't think pin x woma would be very interesting, and probably pin x cinny wouldn't be either. What about pin x black pastel? Albino pins would be awesome but would take a while to produce (darn recessive traits!). Hmmm...any ideas? It's so exciting thinking about all the possibilities, but it makes it hard to focus and choose, hehe

I don't know Cinnapins are pretty hot in my book check it out here about halfway down the page:

What kind of price range are you looking at? A Fire X pinstripe would be pretty cool I'd think! You'd get a lemonblast looking snake that just got lighter and lighter as it got older. Plus fires are coming down quite a bit in price.

    Re: Pinstripe potential

My personal favorite is the Kingpin. A couple of years ago I picked up a male lesser and a female pinstripe with that in mind. The male has been breeding for me last year and this year, the female should be ready to go next year but she's a mouser and a sporadic feeder so it's been hard getting any size on her. But anyway, my personal recommendation would be to go for a kingpin.

    Re: Pinstripe potential

Hmm, that baby cinnapin does look kind of neat, but I wonder how they age? I couldn't find any other photos of them at all.

I didn't even think about a fire x pin! That's what I come here for I guess, haha. I just looked at the fires and they look mostly normal to me as babies (the exceptional fireflies are cool though!). So it seems they fade to a lighter colour with age? I guess I don't really know enough about the fire morph. I'm guessing you'd get a pinstripe that faded to a light brown/grey as an adult? I can't find anyone who has tried that yet so it might be worth a shot?

My price-range for a male isn't too high. I have to set my limit at $600 or so, but would prefer something around $300-$400 if possible. I also want something that will be able to safely breed next season, which narrows the pool a little more.

    Thanks for your help!

Yes I think the kingpin could be neat as well - the issue would be finding a male lesser in my price range, and have it be one that could breed next season!

So far one of my favourites is still the lemonblast! Keep your eyes out for smoking pastel males for me

I'm pretty sure that that cinnapin was a BHB creation (understandable since they've done SO much with pins) and that's the first one I've ever seen. You could always talk to them and see if they've got any updated pics of it, they're really cool to talk to over there and great to deal with.

It depends on the line of fire. They usually don't so much fade as they get older so much as they get BRIGHT! Most adult fires I've seen have really bright yellows and deep deep blacks with just tons of blushing and flames (obviously lol). I think a fire X pin cross would be really cool and you can almost definitely get a nice male fire for your price range. Good luck

I really love the butterpinstripe. I think butter adds more color then lesser, for what I've seen here in Europe.
