    Re: This anygood?

They are for poultry eggs and I've read posts where some users love them and others...not so much! The way I look at it is this: I have spent a lot of money for my snakes and want to breed and have alive and healthy offspring. The part of this scenario I am in control of is the incubator. Therefor, this is the part that I will not scrimp on. I won't use a poultry incubator cause I'm not breeding chickens!! I will use methods that other breeders use and are kind enough to share with members on this list. Pretty cool, huh?!

I do not feel she was being rude but just giving you her opinion.
Like she said, some people are happy with them, others are not.
I for one, do not like them for ball python eggs. Long story.

    She wasn't being rude.

As for your question, I've heard far more horror stories of clutches dying in the hovabator than I've heard of successful incubation of ball python eggs in them.

In my HUMBLE opinion, I read some sarcasm in starmom's post, particularly in the very last sentence... not only the semantics but also the punctuation... this could be taken as rude quite easily. I don't think everything in this world should be sugar coated, but for someone looking for their first incubator, possibly someone just starting out and willing to learn, in my opinion it would just be more effective to kindly explain some specific reasons you think a different choice would work better.

If I read starmom's post wrong, which I know can happen when you are just reading plain text, I apologize fully!

To answer your question Hotshot, many people have had success with those types of incubators for ball python eggs, but there is probably a specific way to go about using it that is the least risky, and I would gather as much information about that before choosing to use one or not. Whatever you choose to do, please keep us updated!

Thanks for apologizing fully. There was no rudeness ever intended and anything that was "read in" is just that: read in; not written in.
Communication via an electronic format can become difficult if readers do not remember to believe the best about the writer's intentions, or to, at least, ask a question to the writer regarding their intention. It's a drag to be accused of rudeness instead of being asked, and were I asked I would have responded with a resounding NO!!

Hey Hotshot~ I was in no way trying to across as rude- just giving you the info I had and then my take on how I will do things when my girls are ready next breeding season. Sorry if I unintentionally offended you as this was in no way my intention! So, are we all good with this? Make it a great day!

My apologies again starmom, perhaps I was able to interpret it wrongly because I do not know you extremely well and it seems maybe that the OP and I are in the same boat there. Glad to hear it was all a misunderstanding on my part.
