Re: I am in heaven as i was given some deer meat

Deer meat is one of the essentials of life in this house! Congrats.
Venison's "gaminess" is affected by the sex and age of the deer killed. Generally in my experience, larger bucks have a tougher, thus gamier, meat. Does (plural of "doe, not "duz") and young bucks/yearlings, have the best meat. But it is in how it was butchered also. It can be dicey; if certain organs were hit in its getting shot, it could effect the meat. I would not eat any if it has a dark and bruised look to it.

Here, too! Stores are full of camo.. the local restaurants' tables are full to capacity with camo. And my house is full of camo, cousins, uncles, and bows/arrows (and later, shotguns.)

I've tried buffalo, its okay, and I've tried alligator. that was interesting.
    Why thank you

If you only had some food item one time and didn't like it, try it again fixed differently. I'm sure you've had a bad piece of chocolate at some point, cheap stale chocolate.. so you could have missed out on chocolate your entire life if you'd eaten that one bad piece first.
Try new foods. I ate about 60 different eggplant dishes before I decided I truly LOATHE eggplant.

You've inspired me. I think that we'll thaw out a pound of Ground venison for goulash this weekend!
