    Ball pythons and smoke

Hey guys, I have an odd question. I live in BC, and we've had a really bad year for wildfires, and the air sometimes it super thick with smoke. It's so bad that fire alarms get set off frequently. My BP is in a tub with only a few dozen holes soldered in, but I'm worried about his sensitive lungs. We keep doors and windows closed, but is there anything else that should be done to keep smoke away from him?

technically snakes have 2 lungs, but one is far less efficient than the other. for this reason it's never a good thing to have a snake around smoke. if anything, i'd keep a fan on in the room to blow out any bad air when those types of situations you describe happen.

Good idea, I'll set up a fan. I'm hoping it won't be an issue but I'm a worrier haha. Thanks!

Can you get an air purifier? As someone who grew up in wildfire country, its not he smoke but the ash that is always everywhere.

Unfortunately most stores have been sold out and the only ones around are super expensive. But if it looks like the smoke will persist or get much worse I will keep that in mind! And yeah, the ash is awful too. Even if you don't think the smoke and ash can get in, it still gets on and in everything.

Can you get an air filter/purifier off of Amazon and have it delivered? I run this one in my snake rooms since the UVC light clobbers airborne germs and the filter not only removes larger particles but ammonia smell if one of the bigger snakes pees and I don't get it cleaned up immediately b/c I'm at work not home: https://www.amazon.com/GermGuardian-...196565&sr=8-10

They're only big enough to do a room but if you close the door to the room the snake is in, it should help a lot.
