Can it also be used to describe bull dogs? For some reason I thought bull dogs... then I saw the pictures. Still nice! But could you imagine a snake climbing all over the face of a bull dog?

Well if you are including all the bully breeds, anything from American Bulldogs to Frenchies should be allowed. I think all my dogs would either want to eat it or be terrified of the snake, I've never put it on them or on the ground with them around, doesn't really seem like a wise idea, pit bulls are terriers and putting a unknown moving object in front of my dogs would probably result in a dead or injured snake. Not a risk I'm willing to take but some very calm and laid back dogs in the thread.

"bully" refers to people with a lack of empathy that constantly pick on the weakest. its like calling your snakes "biters". its not accurate, not descriptive, and implies that they have a terrible character.

The name 'Bully" has nothing to do with temperament or school yard bullies.
The name bully derives from a history of their Molosser decendents being bull baiting and bull fighting dogs.

Not true, a waterdog can do the same thing. It depends on the dog, not the breed. Pits are strong, doesnt mean that they are going to use it against every living being, that they are vicious. They are adorable, and super nice with kids, I love pits.

like i really don't include frenchies in there .. there more like a toy dog to me .. for the folks that know what i meant they already posted pics and thanks guys but like i said i was hoping to see a bunch more ..

and my dog is terrified more of the snake then the snake is of him ... u gotta see the look i get when i let a bp wrap around him n tell him not to move

Hella off topic but bullies/sadists have a lot of empathy. What they lack is sympathy. They are very capable of knowing exactly how to pick apart each individual they torture, but there is no sympathy for how they are making the person feel. The best predators in the world whether human or animal know exactly how their prey feels when they are preying on them. This is how they are successful in what they do. Cats freeze when the prey gets startled before an ambush. Sadists can correctly tell you what gets to you the most, and they will exploit that by pushing on the wound.

What that poster was saying was that the breed as a whole typically has a high prey drive. That's not deeming the whole breed "viscious", it's being realistic. I have owned APBT's as well as EBT's for many years, and yes, they are great dogs, great with kids etc.....but there is no way in hell you'd catch me putting one of my snakes in any of their faces for the sake of photography. To those who can and do do this, that's a risk you are willing to take and that's your prerogative. It is typical of most bull and terrier types to be prey driven. I'd rather not take the risk and find out the hard way with mine.

i dig what ur saying but i don't see a risk i tell my boy to sit i put the snake on him and he doesn't do anything but sit .. in one pic u see i have a snake on my lap n he came over to chill .. i try to keep my dog around my snakes and rats in case on escapes he will not attack it if he sees it .. great example @ the moment i have no rats ready to feed so i went to the store and bought a bunch of mice yesterday .. the tub i put them had a hole in the screen a mouse got out .. my dog was running around trying to get my attention after yelling for him to sit down a couple times and him not listening i went to see what it was . and he had the mouse in the corner just waiting for me

It's cool man, I didn't intend to offend anyone. I know that these guys are indeed intelligent, and some can be obedient enough in a controlled situation to resist any temptation. I just wanted to throw that out there so that people that don't know any better don't learn a lesson at the expense of their snake. I always like to keep a realistic approach. Nice looking dog by the way.

none taken ... believe me if my dog was not trained or i felt i couldn't trust him . these pics would never have been attempted
