Very nice animals especially the Bee in question, now about Mom I don't see YB at all doesn't mean you don't have something else.
good luck with them.

The weird possible YB clutch?? Expert help appreciated
Hello again everyone, this is the last clutch for our male bumble bee. Not as good of odds as the first 2 clutches, but still happy to see some healthy babies.
Only one normal male, the rest of them are females. 👍
Very excited for next year

The mom doesn't look anything at all like my YB.
But, it does look like there could be an additional gene at play in those clutches.
Have you considered any of the "cleaner" genes, specifically any recessive cleaners? Or very subtle genes that are known to clean and brighten other gene expressions?

Not sure what I could be though even if It was just an enhancer.

Thought I would do an update on these 2, getting big nearing 4-450 grams!

Very cool!
I tend to lean towards thinking it's in the dad. It definitely looks like there's a 3rd gene.
I'd breed the dad to a YB.
