i started breeding for my first time in oct.and i continued stoped around march/april.and i see not one of my females gravid.theres no signs of ovulation or anything.i live in fl so temps are perfect.to add to it all my females minus my pastel ate the whole time.i had plenty of lock ups but no signs.i had my het pied pair lock up way before oct.and nothing.so does anyone know why or whats going on?im still pairing the males that do eat and females that eat to and still have lock ups.so now im lost.any help tips,anything will be apreciated.thanks

Do you chart weights by chance? if not suggest you do so, helps immensely in terms of monitoring building process. It is interesting you have not seen any signs yet, but still very possible. Agree would keep pairing. Good luck.

Breeding season seems to go in waves over here. I had my first females start building late January, another few in late March, and three more just started developing about a week ago. In other words, it is not too late for them to go this season.

Last breeding year when I lived in New Port Richey Florida we started breeding Thanksgiving Day and stopped on Valentines Day! One of the female laid in April and the other laid in July. I wouldnt loose hope yet. One of my ladies went off food and the other still ate every week so anything is possible.

They don't read calendars or give a hoot what month is, they go when they go. I have females lay in January and others that lay in October and every month in between. All these girls are kept in the same room under the exact same conditions. Last year for what ever reason 70% of my girls took the year off. This year they decided to lay. I have one girl that has been breeding(locking) for 6 six years and has never laid.

If you don't have patience then breeding ball pythons will be very frustrating. They will go when they are good and ready, not when you are

yeah i havent tracked weights but i know what every female looked like before the pairing and the only one that showed like she was gravid was my 100% het pied and now she looks like she did when first pairing. again this is my first time breeding so sorry with my dumb questions and confussion.everyone is back on feed so does that mean there done being in the breeding mood?im going to pair up again tomorrow and see what happens.idk.

Tracy Barker once said its more important to watch your females than your calendar and I agree 100%. Her advice was if you have a girl that eats fine than suddenly stops in July for no reason, then I would pair her. I have several girls that will lay in Sept and Oct. so they were obviously in their breeding cycle in the middle of summer. Watch your girls closely and eventually they will tell you when they are ready

Pairing them sometimes can get the female to start cycling so it can't hurt.
