But my problem is, I have read a lot on this thermostat and it seems very good. but I wanted to know if It is a proportional thermostat or an on/off?

And if it is an on/off whats the difference?

Does the on/off mean that if you set it at lowest temp 90 and highest 100 that if it hits 100, it will turn off the UTH until it drops to 90 then turn it back on?

and if its proportional does that mean it just maintains constant temps?
The hydrofarm is an on/off which means it turns on to reach the temperature set point and off until it reaches a lower temp and then back on again. Usually the differential is only 2-3 degrees so click on at 90 and off at 93.

A proportional thermostat keeps the same temp constant and the heating source is on all the time. The thermostat just limits the power going to it (like a rheostat) and adjusts the temp accordingly.

Ah, i see. Well thats fine I guess. both are pretty much the same they just use differen't methods to obtain the same result
