pastel female breeder question?

hello all, well ive been wondering if it matters on the color of your female pastel?? i have a really nice male bumblebee that im wanting to breed this season, my question is does it matter if the pastel female is really yellow or browned out a bit? would it affect the chances of me hitting the killerbee or would the darker color of the pastel female not give me any killerbees? any help appriciated

You could still get killerbees, they may just not be as light or blushed out as the KB's you'd get from a nice pastel

ALWAYS get the best and brightest morphs you can, it will only make it worth your while when you breed.

The quality of the morph has no effect whatsoever on the odds for the genetics of your clutch.

In other words, a super bright yellow pastel is still just a pastel--the same as one that is completely browned out. They have one copy of the pastel gene, regardless of their color.

A super-pastel that is bright yellow and one that is browned out--no difference. They are still super-pastels. They still carry 2 copies of the pastel gene.

A killerbee is a super-pastel spider. You need 2 copies of the pastel gene, and one copy of the spider gene. Your killerbee will look nicer if the contributers of the pastel genes look nicer, but your odds remain the same. It isn't color that makes a killerbee--it's genetics.

Yes, but lower quality Killers than if you were to breed high quality animals.

Yes, but they may not be as bright as you'd hope for.

That's not entireley true. Ugly animals can throw nice looking animals and vice-versa.

I bred a Nice looking Pastel to a high white Spider a couple of years ago and ended up with two high white smoking hot Bee's and two browned out Bee's. I bred one of the browned out Bee's to a Normal and ended up producing 2 nice looking Bee's and one Browned out Bee.

Obviously, you would want to buy the best quality animal you could.
