Using just a shoebox rack and a CB70 rack?
Right now I just have an ARS 7030 and a reptile basics 16 tub hatchling rack. Will most BPs transfer relatively stress free from the hatchling to the CB70? My tubs are all opaque, and I can keep them in the shoebox rack as long as possible then put them in a cb70 with lots of hides and maybe even crumbled up news paper to make it not so overwhelming?
Anyone have success with something similar to this?
Eventually I'll have a need for a midsize tub system (or if I really need it I can use my old retired hand made melamime rack). But if possible I'd like to d

Not in my opinion. A CB70 tub is huge. I only use CB70s for my biggest girls. Everything else (from around 500 grams to 2500 grams are in 32qt tubs. You could use extra hides and crumpled newspaper and possibly be ok. For me, I'd rather maximize space and use 32qt tubs. CB70 racks are huge also
Hope this helps!

Yeah the rack is very imposing looking in my room haha. But I have 6 snakes in it in the 750-1000 range that are doing great. Eating well and and all that. My parents were awesome enough to borrow me the money in a no interest loan for a new rack and I got a great deal I couldn't pass up on the 7030, around $450 off retail. And I knew I'd always have a use for it and and that it'd last nearly forever.
Anyway, enough on why I just have those two racks.
If it is a problem I will probably have enough for a midsize rack to transition all my keepers.

We keep baby balls in 6qt tubs until the 1000 gram mark... then we transition them into their new racks (32qts). The bigger female breeders eventually go in the CB750 racks we use. It usually does cause them to go off feed for a while so we try to do this right after the breeding season, instead of before, so we have time to get them feeding well again before the next season.
SO basically, no matter what you do when you transition they will probably stop eating for a while... best thing to do is transition them, wait a couple weeks with absolutely no disturbances other than water changes, and then try offering food.

Wow, keep them in 6qts until 1000g? That's not too tight a fit? What kind of stuff besides a water bowl do you keep in there? Any hides?
Good for me though since I have 750g in cb70s eating well.

I guess maybe I'm just lucky but I put my BP in a cb70 rack at about 400 grams and have never had any feeding issues. I've never had feeding issues with any of my snakes though. Although now that I said that I am sure I will.
