do bp's need excercise?
so do bp's need excercise seeing as the usually just sit in their hide all day? If so what is the most effective way? swim in an inch of water in the tub? let him glide around in the living room (both supervised btw)

No they are cold blooded so exercise does no benefit to them nor would it to any other species of snake, I unfortunately do need some exercise though.

Re: do bp's need excercise?
Glad you asked this question as I had wondered the same thing.
So, if BPs don't need exercise and hide almost motionless 99% of the time, why do they need a home bigger than the size of their curled up selves, their water dish, and hides, i.e. at least the length of the snake?

What does one have to do with the other?
1 husband ~ 2 daughters
1 dog ~ 3 cats ~ 1 guinea pig

Well, you could always try putting it in an exercise wheel...

Well I think it's because, as mammals, most of our energy and exercise results in keeping our bodies nice and warm. =] Since snakes are cold blooded I suppose they don't have to exercise because their body temperature is dependent on their enviornment. Dunno if I'm right, but it seems like the best explanation.

dub it a hackneyed, faux demeanor; you'll ultimately stand corrected.

They get most of their exercise from eating. It takes tremendous muscle strength to kill a mouse and eat it whole. It is basically like flexing all of the muscles in your body and holding for 10-20 minutes.
