Misting is a bandaid for a bad set-up. I know it looks cool but the bottom line is you can either have a set-up that requires no misting (like a twenty gallon long with a plexiglass cover, or a tub), or mist forever. Just my .02
It is totally possible to have a 55 gallon tank with no misting needed. And it isnt even that hard to do either. wether or not that is the right size tank for your snake is a different story.
The easy setup: Cover entire top of tank with foil, then tape (on outside of course) leaving only a hole for the CHE. Put the CHE towards the cool side of the tank. Put a UTH under the warm side. Use a UTH equal to 1/3 the size of the tank.
Set the UTH up on a dimmer switch or thermostat, and get it set to 90 degrees. Put the CHE on a thermostat. Put the thermostat probe in the cool side corner and set it to 80 degrees. Use newspaper as substrate. Put large ceramic dog water bowl in middle of the tank. Put identical hides on each side of the tank. You are done.
Results will be a warm side at 90 degrees, a cool side at 80 degrees and humidity at 55-60% without ever misting.
