    First Feed!

Well, after an unsuccessful attempt to feed my Irwin a F/T mouse last night in a seprate tub I went and got a live small mouse tonight. I decided to feed him in his viv so I would not stress him out putting him in a seperate tub.

I took his hides out and his big plant and dropped the mouse in (it was sad)

The little guy ran around for a bit then made the mistake of sniffing Irwin's nose. WHACK

He downed the mouse in no time flat. Then I quietly put everything back in his tank.

    Re: First Feed!

From reading the OP's original post, I'm wondering if there are any advantages and/or disadvantages with removing hides and other items within the enclosure before dropping a live mouse/rat inside?

    Re: First Feed!

I just took everything out because my tank is pretty full of stuff. And the mouse kept hiding under everything.

It's a 10 gallon with a big plant, waterbowl, two hides and a piece of driftwood.

plus it give me time to make sure his temp probes are correctly in place.

Very nice i recently purchased some baby-juvie balls from Dan Wolfe and they wanted nothing to do with food for about a month but now they are all slamming pretty much anything that smells like a rodent.
