As far as i know you do not need a license to breed.Unless your area is going crazy and trying to scam money from people like us .Where did you get the idea you needed a license to breed?

Unless Florida has passed a new law recently.....you don't need any type of license to breed reptiles.

Some cities/counties around the US do in fact require a liscense to breed snakes ... check your local laws.

The only thing they try to pull here that concerns snake is the size of the snake crap.In Illinois state laws say you can posses a snake up to 15ft.Now peoria tries this snakes under 6ft only garbage, everytime it gets over turned.I know someone that works for the Department of Natural Resources and he is a herper also and he is the one that corrects Peoria every time on the size issue. The only time no one gets involved is if its a case of someone doing something stupid with a large snake.Perfect example a guy in Pekin told a little old lady next door to him that he was going to feed her to his burmese python if she ever called the cops on him again.Well snake was taken and he went to jail .

I was talking to a guy at Pet Co and he refered to the people they purchase there snakes from as licensed breeders. Maybe he was just confused, I mean he does work at Pet Co. So to raise, breed and possible sell ball pythons the only thing I would need is a reptile shipping license? Or would I need a "business license" for selling?

Kilo it would not be the first crappy info from a pet store employee.Unless you are planning to have a business you do not need anything from my understandings. As far as the shipping part its not a license you need, its certified. The only ones that allow snakes and such to be shiiped thru them at this time is FEDEX.Now others do ship thru UPS AND DHL but they were in before they changed there rules. It takes about a month or two to be certified thru fedex. If you do a search here their is a post with all the info in it .I have a question why are you trying to get ready to sell snakes when yours are still babies? Or are you just getting the needed info?

Re: Procedure for obtaining Breeding License

Im just obtaining all of the knowledge I can... I love to learn. Also helps when people are bombarding(sp) you with a series of question. Yea I'm not going to attempt anything for a while, just want to learn .

But if I wanted to sell and I was cert to ship... wouldn't that technically be a business?

Yes, and if you want to be a legitimate business, you would get a business license and tax ID number.
