    Hide question

How is this type of hide utilized with a UTH? Just place it over it and the heat transfers into it?

    yes.

it will take a while for the bottom to reach the right temp, and you might need to bump up your thermostat a degree or two, but it works like any other hide.

EDIT: place the hide and after an hour, check the bottom with a temp gun.

But I’ll still want to keep the glass temperature below the point of too hot for him correct? Not the inside hide temp?

    correct.

you'll likely only need to bump it 1 degree. so even if you have it set at 92* F with a hot spot reading of 89* F now, bumping it up to 93* F to maintain the inside spot at 89* will be fine and not harm your snake.

EDIT: if your snake is a pusher and moves the hide a lot this might cause more problems relating to heating. you might just want to use this hide on the cool side or as an extra in their enclosure.
