Exclamation Have you ever eaten snake?

ok i was just inspired by this thread: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...th-your-normal

have u ever eaten snake? it doesn't necessarily have to be a BP; it could be any snake.

what kinda snake did u eat and how was it prepped? did u like it? would u recommend it?

i have not yet tried any snake meat. i've had the chance a few times at the county fair and i have seen it on 1 restaurant menu, but i have always passed. it is still on my "must try" list tho.

My dad has had both rattlesnake in the US and boa constrictor when he was overseas, gave the standard 'tasted like chicken' response. /shrug

Re: Have you ever eaten snake?

I'll eat anything but I don't think I could eat snake. As snake lovers, I'm surprised most of you would be open to trying this. I couldn't imagine eating anything I would consider as a pet (i.e. dog, snake, etc...)

Rattlesnake filet when I was living in South Florida many, many years ago. Yep, it did taste a lot like chicken! lol

As a survivalist, sure. Why not.

I don't think taste like chicken.

I was in Costa Rica camping and forging when I cam on a Fer De Lance. They are highly poisonous but also delicious. My husky enjoyed some as well.

Yeah, once. I have eaten gator multiple times, as well. Fortunately for them, reptiles don't taste very good.

I had python and rabbit sausage last fall. It was kinda bland, but still not bad. I'd try it again.

Had rattlesnake before, not much flavor to be honest... not bad, but not exactly magnificent table fair.

That would be a hard no from me. I'm incredibly weird about the meat I eat. As a rule, I only eat fish and poultry. But not just any fish or poultry. It has to be a very plentiful species (ex: salmon, tuna, redfish, chicken, turkey), but if I determine it to be majestic, unusual, adorable or beautiful (ex: octopus, eel, swordfish, dove, duck, pheasant) I won't eat it.

But I totally wear leather boots, so take my hypocrisy for what it is.
