My ball seems to developed a bulge any input appreciated
So we came home from a 2 day vacation and we noticed our ball has gotten a bulge by his hips. He had stopped eating 3 weeks ago he normally does this around Dec or January so I wasn't alarmed. I have not noticed a bowl movement since his last few feedings as well ( he is somewhat of a inconsistent pooper anyways). So my thought are consitpation or actually inpaction. I'll give you little run down on his home.
Cypress mulch is out bedding
86°f/74°f humidity is set 50%-55%
Here's a few shots of our issue he seems to have a little bit of red stretching

Vet, ASAP. My retic had the same thing and needed surgery to correct it. Her colon was completely obstructed by an infection.
I created a thread about it a few years back: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...Nova-s-Surgery

So a little update we got our x-rays done today looks like we are still moving fecal matter but as the previous poster alluded to the swelling is due to a massive infection. We have started subcutaneous injections of 25mg of Ceftazidime every 3 days to try and fight the infection before we do surgery.
here are our x-rays ultrasound will be coming in a few days if no signs of improvement as we are headed towards the surgery.

His girth at the bulge is 12cm Ill keep everyone updated as to how this plays out. Here's to hoping he gets better it amazing how much you can go through with these guys you get pretty attached.
Thanks again for the input Gamam really appreciates it

That’s a bummer. Massive infection sounds serious. I hope the vet is able to cure your pet.
