Newbie breeder here

Alright guys i need some help im sure i could have searched for some answers but i want some straight foward answers about my options and withbthe male i have... So here it goes. I have a spider het pied male that im tossing around the idea of breeding. But i went to my local reptile store and no it wasnt a big box store. And he was reccomending just getting 2 new snakes and try to stay away from breeding spriders because of the wobble. I loovveeee the piebald gene and would love to get some pies. But what do you think i should breed my spider with or was the reptile store guy right?? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Open to an morphs just really love the pies!

Breed what you like. If you do not plan to keep all the babies, find something you like and can sell. You shouldn't have any problem getting rid of pieds. Whether you breed spiders is a personal choice. I do.

Oh okay he said i just have to make sure there is no spider in the fenale because i most likely would lose all the babies?? I will keep an eye out for a female i like then. Thanks for the comment!

you should not breed Spider x Spider because it produces a lethal combination. you could breed your Spider het Pied x Pied and that would be fine.

To clarify a little more...

Spider x Spider would produce a clutch where and average of 1 in 4 eggs will die.

I wouldn't recommend breeding a spider at all? As you mentioned it has the wobble- maybe the eggs'll be fine, but the snake will have a neurological problem for the rest of it's life.

I have bred my Spinner (spider x pinstripe) and her spider gene snakelets turned out just fine, no discernible wobble at all. Not all spiders have a wobble, there is just potential for it, and there's no real way to breed out a wobble. There is nothing wrong with breeding the spider gene (how else would you get spinners, bees, etc?), you just don't want to breed spider x spider like was mentioned above. Anything het pied would be awesome to breed to, and you can get single gene females het for pied pretty inexpensively. Check morphmarket.com for some price points. You won't be able to breed hatchling snakes any time soon but you will eventually.
