Protein content is really too high 18% for rats and 18%-20% for mice is what I would recommend.

Wow, yeah, that's a high protein content. You can dull it down if you buy a bag of oats and mix it in.
EDIT: Re-read the title. That's a dog food, derr, I thought it was a lab block or something. Definitely mix it with oats. Go like 60-70% oats, and then add in whatever else you want. The dog food, seeds, brown rice, whole grain raw pasta, that kind of stuff. Assuming you want to make your own mix. But feeding it alone, the protein is way high.

I would not recomend feeding dog food to rodents. I work at a pet store and we started feeding returned dog food to our rats and mice. After about a month we started to notice them getting sick. The protein and fat levels are too high. Even though brands like purina and science diet have high grain levels (which isnt good for dogs) theres just too much crap in them that makes it un healthy for rodents.
Try and find bulk bags of rodent food. You should be able to fing Kaytee rodent pellets in 20 pound bags for around 25 bucks

Holy crap! I would go broke at those prices... I prefer to spend 9 bucks for 50 lbs of hog feed!

Yeah that was just a retail price and kaytee is a higher quality brand. I think the one we use in the store is called Mazuri and we get 25 pound bags for like 8 bucks.

Dakota B, Dog food is one of the most important, and constant ingredients in a show diet for rodents. You have to properly mix it with other grains and seed foods. Holistic dog food is the way to go for these diets, as it is actual animal protein, and not tons of corn and soy with animal fat sprinkled on top.
It's not bad for them, it just -can- be (like many foods) if not fed properly, and in moderation.
