Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
So today my dad picked my brother and I up to go to his place, but we stopped at the store. I admit I was lazy, and did not even change my pants so I was wearing my pajama pants. They are comfortable and soft, but it's HORRIBLE to wear in hot weather like arizona has. We walk into Safeway, and so many people were staring at me. It's so weird when you go to the store and everyone looks at you JUST BECAUSE YOU GOT YOUR PAJAMA PANTS ON. It just makes me feel weird that everyone is staring at me and I feel like I'm being watched..

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Crowd in store: Look at that freak with the pj's on. I would never let my daughter dress like that out in public.
haha:) JK

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I have these bright pink with green frog head PJ pants, I wore them to dairy queen one time it was kinda late so I figured the place would be empty but I was wrong LOL!!!

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I think white kids wearing fitted hats is the most awkward for me... or 3x shirts and jeans that are far to baggy.
-
Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
My oldest son has tried to get out of the house a few times wearing his pajama bottoms. He says that he has friends of his that wear them to school. I guess it's the new 'In Thing' all those wild teenagers are doing these days. What IS this world coming to? :colbert:
On the other hand, they really don't look like the kinds of pajamas they had when I was younger. They're more like heavy duty flannel pants with colorful prints all over them.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I used to go to class, and sometimes shopping, in my bathrobe. I miss college.
-
Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Meh, kids (mainly girls) would often show up to school in PJs and even bring blankets to my school (mainly in the winter). So, it's not uncommon to see them wearing the same stuff around town here, lol.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
My girls travel back & forth between here & NC, yep when I pick them up at the airport they are in their PJ's, when I'm in NC I wear them everywhere :)

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Honestly wearing PJ pants in public isn't a big deal. I do it all the time. I really don't care what the general population thinks about what I'm wearing. They don't have to like what I'm wearing and if they look at me because they aren't used to seeing people out in PJ pants, well then they lead a sheltered life and should get out more.
So many people judge you by what you wear and its pathetic. Try judging someone on the merrits of their character and personality rather than their attire. Please be aware that I am not directing any of this at you or anyone here.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Please, I go inside the local petstore a lot in my lofas, with shorts and a muscle shirt on.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Try going to the mall in Jersey sometime. 75% of the people in the mall wear their pajamas... Seems like the in thing for teenage girls is pajamas and Ugg boots. I just don't get it...
I never got the Ugg boots craze anyway. There's a reason they're called Uggs... They're the ugliest damn things you could possibly wear!

Lol to be honest I don't even like them. They seem comfortable, but not something I'd wear:8:

i didnt know that people of different races were to dress certain ways. i never noticed on clothes tags where it says black, white, hispanic, etc. could you please make a list of what each race should wear so we can make a sticky out of it cuz i hate to be caught dressing out of my own race.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Hehe. I used to live in North Scottsdale and would make quick grocery store runs in my P.J. pants all the time. One time I even forgot to change out of my house shoes into my flip flops! Everyone stared at me. But oh well. I wasn't go to change just to run in and get some milk!

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I wear fitted hats, as do a lot of people I know. I hate having to deal with adjusting the hat, and I hate having the opening in the back. A fitted hat to me is much much more comfortable then a regular adjustable hat, also add the fact that fitted hats are usually a bit higher in quality.
As far as the shirts being to big, everybody has their own like. I personally don't like a shirt clinging to me, unless its like a muscle shirt and i'm workin in the yard. When I go out, I wear a shirt that is a little bigger then me, not 3x but probably 2x.
Then the jeans, I don't wear my jeans hanging off my butt or anything, but I do wear a size bigger so they don't hug my parts... As i'm sure a lot of guys would agree with me, it gets very uncomfortable when they can't move.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
i only wear fitted hats!!

VERY well said. I prefer a fitted hat personally because I like the way it FITS... Also, I like the look of the hat without the hole in the back.
I personally wear 3x t-shirts for the same reason. I have broad shoulders so even the 2x feels tighter than I like on my shoulders, even though by standard definition, it "fits".
GOTTA wear jeans a little big. I don't get the new "skinny jeans" craze either... I can't stand the feeling of tight clothes and don't get why anyone would intentionally buy pants that are about two sizes too small and two inches too short...

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I wear my pajama pants all the time with a simple tank top and some flip-flops. I don't really notice any negative attention. Though, it's only when I walk to a convience store or run to a fast food spot or something. Where I live its really common; in winter, instead of jeans, alot of girls where sweats and pj pants.

I know many, many years ago here in Chicago, if you dressed like this you were Black and you were bangin'.Of course the fitted hat was cocked to one side or the other for representation.Does that cocked to the side hat still represent something?I don't even see kids wearing hats straight or backwards anymore.

I never really did understand that, I think one person somewheres did it, then some people followed. To me it just makes the person look like an idiot when their hat is cocked to one side. I wear a hat to keep lighting out of my eye, so the bill forward is how I wear it, now on the other hand, if i'm riding in a convertible car or a t-top car, or on a motorcycle, I turn my hat backwards so the wind doesn't catch the bill of the cat and yank it off. Plus a hat isn't comfortable turned to either side, because of its shape.

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
Oops, I have a fitted on in my avatar!
I own about 10 fitted hats. I could not live without them. Only imagine how many different races own and wear fitted hats. Sport fans, skateboarders, rappers, teenagers, are all examples of people wearing fitted hats. Or if your just a stylish person who has a variety of different accessories like me! :D I really don't understand when people categorize clothes with race.
*Puzzled look on my face* :rolleye2:

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I've worn pajamas to the store before..One time though I wore one pair to the store (a comfortable thin pajama pants) and while at the store I noticed I kept getting gazes..Usually people never really paid much mind (it was a quick check at 12am at night)..anyway...one lady finally comes up to me and tells me "DId you know you have a long cut in the back of your pants?"...I was pretty imbarressed..when I got home I took the pants off the assess the cut..yea..it was pretty big..lol...From that point on I always checked my pjs before putting them on..lol

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I used to wear my PJ's out in public when I was around 13-15... I got stares, but it wasn't uncommon in the town I lived in. It was a pretty alternative/artsy town so anything out of the norm was... normal, lol.
I get stares now though, like crazy. I think it's cuz I'm pretty pale, and always wear my band t-shirts. Something about Slipknot and masks make people stare! People will always stare though... just stare back at them and they'll be intimidated ;)

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
AHH Who cares? lol Unless i have to impress somebody, i dress the way i want haha... When i have to run out to the store and i just wake up, you better believe im showing up in pajama pants, and a t-shirt haha If someone stares at me i stare right back at em :D And if they have a problem, let them come and say something!.. Okay, im getting a little off topic.. But yea, everyone where i live Knows who i am, so im comfortable everywhere here... If people stare at you and you feel weird, and care what they think theres a self-esteem issue there.... Im not saying to not care about most things people think, but the small stuff like the way you dress when you want....

The funny thing is when someone is staring at you and you just stare back at them they will look away. I don't really care that people were staring at me oddly, I just felt weird because it seemed like I was in the middle of a hundred staring eyes.

Lol ok good because if there were rocks that would have definitely left some nasty scars. Not all people die from dropping into a waterfall with rocks at the bottom, they just get severely injured.

No, i dont think you understand... ANYONE who drops 80 feets slamming into rocks Will DIE! lol There have only been deaths or people who walk away without any bruises at Bash Bish... http://www.hvmag.com/Hudson-Valley-M...ishFallsGP.jpg
No ones surviving that if they hit shallow water lol You have to hit the very right spot that is deep...

That's definitely not true! When you find someone who you know will put up with all your quirks, they too will do stupid stuff in public! Or your other half will just tolerate it, like I do with my BF... He gets alot of stares :weirdface

Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
It's pathetic that people wear pajama pants in public.
I could see wearing them out to grab the mail out of the mailbox but other than that to me it's pure laziness to throw a pair of regular pants or shorts on.

Why get dressed an everything if your only going to run like 1 errand? It's not worth it is why. It's nothing about laziness, well with some people it may be, but not all. So it's not pathetic, it's just people assume stuff when they don't really know. Not everybody is constantly trying to impress the rest of the world 24/7.
-
Re: Wearing pj's at the store, weird.
I suppose I'll rephrase what I said so it's not taken as a racist statement such as clothes fit certain races. When you grow up privileged and mommy and daddy are doctors or nurses or whatever I think it's ridiculous for kids to act and dress like they're little bangers when their 16th birthday present was an e-class benz and trust me I see it a lot. It's not that the hat is "Fitted" it's that the bill is left flat and cocked to one side and I think it looks ridiculous and disrespectful and that's just my personal opinion.
On the pajama note. When I was in highschool and whatnot I wore them to school a lot. I'm not really a morning person so I'd kinda just wake up and go.

I can't wait until I get married.
Now that I'm not a teenager anymore, there are so many more opportunities for me. I can actually START living.

LOL. I'm living and im not a teenager, however i'm not really looking to getting married anytime soon, I love being single. Only thing that sucks about being single is it gets boring, but when that happens I intrude on my best friend and his gf. lol
