I'm so proud of my BP!
So if you guys read my previous thread, i was concerned of the scale rot...

    Well luckily i was wrong...

I may have done something wrong (guys let me know), I fed him yesterday, being he was due...since Sunday...I don't think he likes f/t, he just looks at it...and I'm coming to think that its not as healthy...(ooooh i'm gonna hear it) Its like a cheeseburger...the best burger joints are the one that are fresh never frozen e.g. In n Out, and Wendy's...so I think i'm gonna stick to live...just my personal opinion...and I love In n Out...

Well he ate yesterday an adult mouse, which i forgot to weight, My BP is 100 g before the feeding..

I have not touched him, but as i peak in his little cave...there was a whole piece of shed to his side

Well i got excited...and had to run to BP-Net and tell you guys....

but i'm hoping feeding him yesterday wasn't a bad idea...

I do wanna check to see how his belly is doing, being that I'm leaving tomorrow and I'll be away for two days

    What's your intake...

mine eats during a shed all the time. no worries. i also prefer to feed live but i always keep F/T incase i get a picky one or for some reason i need it.

they should take F/T if its thawed and heated correctly. then zombie dance it.

Sometimes you can just leave the rat in the cage and they will eat it without striking and coiling first. :gj:

What I had to do with a friends snake who wouldn't eat f/t, and we didn't want to live feed it, I would get the mouse by the tail, thump it really hard and then put it in with the snake, the mouses seizures make the snake happy(just another method) it's better then leaving the mouse walking around and possibly biting the snake, especially when you get to rats.

Oh that's how i usually do it...i never put it in front of his face...what i noticed is that it takes a while, and a lot more work to give him frozen...it needs to be the right temperature...or else he won't eat it...I tried several times Sunday, and I had to keep reheating it...(i just let it sit underneath a heat lamp, of course i was careful not to let it cook; even though i did that once...which was a nasty sickening smell...) So yeah I'm not too happy with the frozen...

And I can't be convinced that f/t is just as good as live, I am a health nut, and I buy my food organic and even me own mother never froze the chickens we ate...We used to get them killed the same day we ate them, and that's no lie...

Its a fact, fresh is better, tastier and healthier...:taz:

Well My BP Is a BEEP! He Ate off a tong with the original breeder but every since he's been with me i have to drop the f/t rat in the cage and then without a coil he'll just eat it. when i feed him i feel so bored waiting for him to finish to put him back into his tub. he's hell the slowest eater ever. it takes him like 15 minutes to eat a small rat and he's 500 grams! I wish i could change this but ive tryed everything to try. but what ever atleast he eats!!!:D

Personally, I don think there eating should be for our entertainment/excitement. I read tons of threads on people who's snakes wont eat, be happy yours eats:) I think its cute that he doesn't coil and just gently eats it too!

Yeah I did that to a rat for my normal female, she refused to eat and I got stuck with a retarded rat living in a critter keeper for 2 weeks.

So, I have a question. Exactly how do burger joints get meat never frozen? Do they have cows out back? I've been to a meat plant before, and the cattle are frozen as soon as they are skinned.

Is is shipped overnight? I wouldn't eat anything that has been raw for more than a few days. Ugh!! I think frozen is better. Just not something freezer burned.

I feed live too because it's easier, but will switch to frozen soon. I'm about to get a 4th snake, and live is going to get expensive. I just don't understand the fresh/not frozen analogy?

Well, what you say about the meat packing plants is true. They do freeze the meat immediately. I think what they meant was burger joints that keep the meat in the freezer and just throw it on the grill to thaw it. I don't know for sure what they meant though since I didn't say it :-) lol Just my guess.

When it gets to the restaurant, they don't freeze their meats... as to some other places store and freeze...In N Out is notoriously known for never freezing their meats...
