    I am really liking the flashy white fangs though. :D

    Wow, he looks so strange, never saw one like that!! What would you reccomend as a beginners T. I am terrified of spiders...but I hate being so lol!! I think I would rather hold a T than a little spider. I guess cuz they are furry lol. I really dont like how rose haired look...I like the dark black ones. Any suggestions?

    Cool spider!! I have absolutely no idea, but everyoen is saying female, so Im gonna say male lol!

    If you like the velvety looking all black T's then a G. pulchra (Grammostola pulchra-Brazilian Black Beauty. That is the type of T you are guessing the sex on. This one is only about 1 3/4" so he/she is still small yet) is for you. They are very pretty and very docile. They are one of my favorites :gj:

    Question?

    I was wondering why you do the sexing via the external ventral view as opposed to using the interior shot of the molted skin?

    Just curious. :)

    Everyone who said male is correct. The patch of black hairs above the epigastric furrow confirms it to be male. In the the micro shot you can see no lady parts. Thanks everyone for playing :gj: At least if a few people play or want to learn I don't feel like a complete dork for posting these things-lol

    Indeed.

    I had no idea about he patch of black hair - I was just going by the size of the abdomen.

    But if I had seen this in the close up shot I would have changed my mind;

    I am trying to learn how to sex them as accurately as possible by doing the external ventral way for my own information really. Just to learn something new. Microscoping the molts is getting eaiser for me so I am trying to learn this way also. It is hard to do accurately so I will always micro the molts to be certain.

    The molted skin is the BEST way to do it IMO. The little ones I micro and the bigger molts you can see with the naked eye.

    I think Derek It just boils down to I really am a dork-lol

    That HONESTLY has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I wish more people looked in the invert section just so they could it it :rofl:

    Re: Let's play: G. pulchra male or female???
    I would have said male but you already posted the answer anyway. Once I had gotten the hang of ventral sexing, I haven't been wrong yet. :P It's convenient, easy and you don't have to wait for a molt so sex them. Anyway, klutzes like me accidentally tear molts a lot when trying to uncurl or unfold them.

    I would have said male if you hadn't already told what it was. I have two females though so I also know what the underside of a girl looks like.

    Very cool thread. I didn't post a guess because I'm just looking around right now. But it was still educational for sure.

    I'd love to get a G. pulchra. But when the opportunity came up I didn't have any extra money laying about. :( Oh well!
