Me too. In fact I've always wanted some sort of ridiculously inconvenient African mammal. So when people drive up my driveway they're like. "Is that a giraffe? How'd he get a giraffe?"

I have seen some big cat santuaries put tigers and lions up for adoption at around that price (usually a tid-bit higher.) I would imagine the paper work it would take to be able to own one would be expensive and difficult to get, plus the expenses of caring for one, it would make sense if they weren't that much. Plus, its not like they are in big demand.

And need I remind yall http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=85931

Didn't some kid that was on here, own a mountain lion? They kept it in an enclosure in their yard? I think that they lived in Mexico.
I prefer to admire the big cats from afar :) Although it would be neat to have one. Or maybe instead, a pet whale. How many gallons per whale? Will a 120-long tank work??

They can be a handfull, just like that pack of wolves I used to keep, they killed and ate my family though so I decided to let them run free.

Some animals cannot be tamed...wolves for instance.

I feel as though some animals, such as tigers, shouldn't be pets. Its just, wrong, they need to be in the wild where they can run and hunt themselves.

People with exotic pets such as monkeys, tigers, etc. disgust me...

I grew up with a pet monkey. I don't think I'm disgusting. But then, that's just my opinion. Pet monkeys are fairly common where I come from.

I think it's bad enough to see animals like that in zoo's looking all sad and depressed...but then again I do have 2 pythons in cages in my home so that probably makes me a hypocrite.

So, you're saying, we were wrong for owning a monkey? I wonder why... when monkey and family are all happy, and everybody else I know who has one are great keepers as well. I guess I better place a call to Cameron Diaz letting her know she's disgusting...

are we wrong for owning snakes as well? how about the parrot? what's the difference exactly? so... where can I find this list of okay-not-okay things to own?

or, maybe you just don't know enough about monkeys and the people who keep them or the monkey-keeping hobby in general? just wondering...

It's kinda ironic when ye of the snake world come up in arms against python trade bans yet make blanket statements about monkeys.
