What to do when you are totally bummed
So, when life isn't going your way, you feel like you are losing control of everything....what do you do? I used to play a bit of warhammer 40k but the company that makes that game screwed it up so I don't enjoy it. Same with playing WoW. It just seems like my life has taken a horrible turn and I can't cope with it right now. I have nothing to relieve stress. My love life is fallin apart. I am going to be a dad and never wanted kids. My snake breeding plans are falling apart due to money. What the heck do you guys do? How can you have fun with no money?

Cars are one of my passions, so I can hop in and go for a short drive somewhere nice and get everything off my mind. Music also helps me a lot, as well as partner stunting. Maybe try working out? Go for a run outside with head phones, or lift weights somewhere.

Sorry to hear that things are overwhelming. That is never fun... :(

For me, I go somewhere where this is no one, I see no one, I talk to no one, and I just listen and sit and be alone with me outside of my usual space.

A park, museum, library, gallery... wherever. Takes a bit to get the internal dialogue to die off, but when it does, man is it blissful. :)

Not sure that would be your thing, but regardless, I hope things take an upswing for you and that you are able to cope with the changes ahead.

I'm sort of in that same place. I've been doing a lot of reading, writing, and going to the gym. I also do a lot of baking. O_o I don't really eat what I make, but it gives me a serious boost when someone else devours my cookies or cheesecake or whatever.

Lets just say that the Nuva ring birth control AND Trojan are both FAIL in my eyes right now. What are the odds? 99.9 my butt. Really maybe I should get my het pieds up to breeding size, with the odds I hit, I think I would probably have a clutch of all pieds! As it stands, I can't afford to get mates for my corn snakes, or my new rack project bleh.... just bummed and ranting, sorry guys and gals.

Well if it helps any my 7yo son I was on the pill, and my 6yo daughter we where useing a condom that broke.
I enjoy doing artwork, if that is you in your avatar do work on some new tats:D and if you ever get out to SD my hubby and I got a couple new guns and new ink, so we are all set to do some tat work.
I try and focus on things I do enjoy, it does get hard sometimes, but there will always be something good in the end.
I have a tub of chocolate chip cookie dough in the freezer:D
Getting out into nature and spending some alone time works with me too, I take me and a camera and head out into the hills take pics on the way find a nice spot and sit, almost like meditating.
I also clean when there is nothing else for me to do.
I'm in a pretty bad place myself rite now, and it is so hard to find the good when everything looks so bad.

My husband said you can do one of 2 things: do nothing and maby things will work out, or get up and make the best out of what you do have.

Hmm hate to be the one to point it out but both failing at the same time seems fishy bud. I feel like a real jerk saying this but make sure you get a dna test. Just trying to look out for ya man. As for cheering you up you can poke at your snakes that what I do. Its fun to poke their chubby bellies lol.

When I'm pretty bummed out, I'll go work out or just completely go through and clean my herp collections habitats. That alone for me takes some time, and you get to play with your snakes/herps while you're at it!

Not the healthiest way to deal with stress, but it sure as hell works.

Got me through college without blowing my top at anyone other than brick walls.

Hurts a lot, but for me it really does help. Usually anger builds up in me for a few months and then it just releases.

It's horrible when you try to take your anger out by hitting the tennis ball really hard and then hitting out. THAT really angers me.

what?! nuvaring..? no birth control is successful unless your timing is exact...
nuvaring has been awesome for me for two years... but i mark my calendar..! before that it was the patch, and before that the depo shot.. the ring is definitely the best..!

as far as stress relief... i would have said go get another tattoo, but money poses a problem there..
personally i clean or rearrange something.. but im a little ocd so that may not help you, lol...
take everyone else's advice and find a place to get away from it all... bring your ipod, shut your mind off and chill out.

I spent late elementry school, all of middle school, and a bit of high school heavily playing Ultima Online(by far the best MMORPG ever!)

Tons of fun and worked wonders for generic teenager stress.

You'd have to decide to be happy. If you end up being a dad.. well.. you did the deed.. you'll just have to put a good face on the deal.(I'd get a paternity test too, just for giggles you know..)
You don't have to have money to be happy. If I had to have money to be happy, I'd never be happy.
Clean your house, wash your car, cook something really tasty for someone you know, and take it to them. Ever baked someone a cake? Do it. Everyone appreciates a cake!
Clean, measure, weigh, picture all your snakes. Plan what you'll breed later, plan what you'd like to get for your cornsnakes later for breeding projects.
You can be misrable with a million dollars, or happy with none. It's all you, man!

I want to thank you all for your suggestions. I am not sure really anything is helping right now. Just too many things going on I guess. Of all things, I have resorted right now to sleeping. When there is no one around I sleep. It isn't restful but I don't have to face anything.

Someone posted out here somewhere on "finishing strong" or something like that. This guy with no arms or legs manages to find satisfaction in what he does. Someone help me dig it up. You might be able to get some perspective after watching it. In my opinion, it is all a matter of perspective. You know, the count your blessings and such. I know, it sounds hokey, but it really does help me. I'm a manic depressive gal. The doctor prescribed some meds and I decided, No Way, Jose! So, when I get in my depressive state, I externalize. I stop dwelling on myself and start looking outwards. I started out with my very first dog (gosh, this was 20 years or so ago). Taking care of that mutt really made me learn to externalize - to put all of myself into another being - even if it's a dog that is indiscriminate of its affection. Then, I started thinking of bigger things - like one time, I took my guitar to my super old neighbor and we sang songs off a fakebook. She loved it! She talked and talked and talked about her family who doesn't visit her anymore and her late husband and all these crazy stories she had. It was great. Although, she's a mean old lady - she scratched up my other neighbor's face for planting a bush that blocked her view of the street. At that time, I also had a paraplegic neighbor who lives on his own. He is always needing something but is too proud to ask. He would wait for his weekly companion to do stuff like change a lightbulb. So, when I'm in this depressive mood, I would just pop over to his house and bug him for all the things that need doing in his house. After I got married and had kids, everything that was ME was put in the back burner. Everything now is externalized. Dang, I can't worry about how my butt is getting too big, or that I don't recognize any of the titles in the new DVD releases since I haven't been to the movies in years, or how I have no money for anything or whatever. In comparison to an infant with an ear infection, it just all pales in comparison. So yeah, my kids are my life and they give me a reason to get up every morning with a big grin on my face! So, yeah, this baby might just be what you need!
Sorry, I don't know why I have this tendency to ramble on and on and on...
