Re: racks
Well, it really depends on your environment. I keep my house chilly and live in a cold place and so I like racks that have walls and floor and lid. I have 4 racks from Reptile Basics and love them: http://www.reptilebasics.com/Iris-Sw...t-p-16197.html.
For younger snakes, or less secure snakes, I use the tub dividers :)

Re: racks
jasons jungle racks are very nice and made of pvc. But very pricey. I would recommend vision racks, if you are going to have a large collection and be breeding
-
Re: racks
Well, that's why I mentioned environment. I have 13 ball pythons and some are breeding and yet Vision Racks are not plausible for me since the tubs are not enclosed and so would never stay warm enough given my external environmental temps :)

Re: racks
I use belly heat for all of my racks and it works well.
I have purchased snakes from NERD, 8Ball, and TSK. There are also many more breeders from whom I would purchase depending upon the type of snake I wanted to purchase. If I wanted another lemon pastel I'd go straight to NERD. If I wanted more mojo's I'd go to Jasballs. If I wanted a black pastel I'd go to Heather. So, it just depends. Think about what you want, do your research, and then call different breeders (or email them) and start a dialog :)

Re: racks
I also have one of the RBI racks with belly heat. The 32qt size has been perfect for all of my balls so far, and I am intending on getting another one some time early next year. I love that you can use the dividers to make more space. They also have the bigger size rack for the really big females, and I will probably end up with one of those when I have some really big girls. I would highly recommend them, just make sure you get a good thermostat to regulate them.

If you are going to the show in January the Reptile Basics vendor is always at that show. They are located on the top section in the left hand corner. I recommend you get to them first because they sell out on a lot of the racks. If you buy from them they will hold it for you until you are ready to leave. I have a back heat rack and a juvenile rack from them and they are great. I am going to pick up a belly heat rack for my females. Remember to get your thermostat it is sold separate but can power up to 7 racks I believe.

NERD's lemon pastel is good and bright. Also, the pastel I got from TSK is holding his color really really well! Albino's are bright!! Butters too!! Axanthics are great and I prefer the VPI line; but the TSK line is also great!
Just purchase what looks good to your eye and what will work with whatever projects you love :)

What about a ghost or orange ghost im looking at those morphs to and thank u once again for your help:gj:

Re: racks
The ghost is a recessive morph and so if you love them (I do) get two visual morphs or a dom or co-dom morph that is 100% het for hypo plus a visual of the ghost. Clear as mud, huh?!
For instance, I have a pastel het hypo and a hypo. When I breed them, I'll have a shot at a hypo pastel! :D

ok i will think about it i saw some nice snakes from Ralph Davis i like his ghost and phantoms. and Even bhb has some nice ones i can wait until January. im not in a rush to breed them either want take my time and make sure every one is health and strong. I understand when u have to wait for your females r strong and ready to breed feed them right and take care of them. i breed Rottweiler for the last 7 years so i understand about timing and everything . THANKS ONCE AGAIN:gj:

Re: racks
Well....
I live in Oregon, in central Oregon, and it is not exactly the snake capital of the world ;) I have a rather large family with all of the family stuff that is included with that. I have a very ill daughter. I have a ranch I'm building in eastern Oregon and that lifestyle really disallows for a lot of travel. I have a new puppy.
I suppose that it would be fair to say that I did extensive traveling in the US and abroad when I was younger, and now have planted roots and the responsibilities that come with them.
Finally, shows cost a lot when airfare, hotel, food, etc is added up and, honestly, I'd rather spend that money on livestock, fencing, building materials, etc. :D
