I am so in love with rat babies!! We've got every kind right now.

These are some little fuzzy ASF rat babies. They are hilarious. They still don't have their eyes open, but they bounce around like they're popcorn. There's some new pinks under the pile.

I had forgotten all about that guy! He looks great! I was so hesitant to get rid of him in the first place but didn't need another male Pastel and then when I found out the guy was selling him after two weeks I thought about buying him back. Glad he went to you though man!!

I need to give ASFs a go again... Mine just seemed to take forever to mature... but...they were only weans when I got them.

Where the heck did "Wild Bill" from IA go? Haha!

African Soft Fur Rats

What's the difference between African soft fur rats and normal rats, besides soft fur?

Two different species of rats.
ASF and natal rats are thought to be the missing link between mice and rats, sharing characteristics with both. Many times they are classified as Natal mice, or Mutli mice, but others they are referred to as rats.

To add to this, asfs are the size of small rats as adults. And take a long time to mature!

Thanks Jo! They are definitely ugly babies. But the adults are pretty cute. We have at least one nasty one and the rest aren't nippy really. We'll see how the production goes!

Well the difference between regular rats and ASFs is that ASFs are apparently made of crack because the snakes can't get enough of them and they can get even the toughest noneaters out of their funk.

Jo they are ugly. I always think their eyes are gonna pop out of their heads. They're sweet and fuzzy tho. And they all pile in the deli cup together. It's hilarious. I can't wait to see the babies open their eyes. They'll be adorable.
