Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
those snakes are on my wishlist
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
ya there awesome i love them
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
the only thing that turns me off of coastals is their size =]
i held one and loved her, she was about 7.5 foot...
but the sheer strength of them is like whoa, but i love them, along with any other of the carpet family!
that second picture, wow, that snake has some nice contrast!
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
Those are not coastals. The first is a diamond x coastal cross and the second is a jungle carpet or some cross with a high percentage of jungle.
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
Ya I have to agree wit Michael on that one. I really like the jungle, I would like to see some more of it, is it really that high % black

He's right bro...them aren't coastals :(.... on the bright side...those probably wont get as large as coastals....and the DxJ should color up nicely with a few more sheds...thats the beauty of carpets! :)
I feel like, for the past week, a member of this board gets a new carpet every day...I love it! :gj:

...nobody is acting sad...more or less felt sorry for you because you were lazy to type out coastal/diamond cross...so we felt bad breaking the news to you that it wasnt a 'coastal.' It is a very nice snake...we just felt bad because it looked like you were sold an animal for what it wasnt...people here are just looking out for you. :gj:

Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
im still pretty new to carpets. when i got home with them i took them out of the bag but they wouldnt let go of my hand my fingers were turning purple lol
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
purity is very important to some, completely unimportant to others... but i think everyone agrees that the animals need to be well represented. i'm sure they were well represented since you got them from yasser so all is good.
either way, they look nice and i'm sure you'll enjoy them. just watch out for that feeding response.

Colin stated it clearly when he said misrepresentation. This is the main problem when it comes to carpet crosses. It is always best to label them correctly in case someone new to the hobby looks at the pics or becomes interested in them.
It is all in the knowledge.
For future reference, diamond x coastal can be typed D x C, diamond x jungle as D x J, etc.

Re: My new Coastals [Pics]

...well purity in carpets IS huge....it is very important to a lot of us as much of the gene pool is already 'muddy'....and it's getting harder and harder to fine pure animals...purity vs hybrids became such an issue with carpets.... that another site was created...

but she huffs when i try and move her =]
its funny... my baby male cut my finger circulation... that was interesting... he likes to head butt me... :colbert:
ahha
but yeah, i knew they wernt 100%, i just didnt think to much on it to type it out lol.
im still lovin that female.

Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
ya shes cool im having trouble figuring out something for her to climb on though any ideas?
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
Im about to post a thread with my Jungle's new shots =] i'll post a pic of her cage, shes about 5.5 foot tho.. a lil smaller but i just have some branches from a neighbors tree they had cut... i cleaned off the bark... cut them to size, drilled a hole, and then screwed them into the side of the cage =] Kamia loves them =]
but it would depend on what kind of cage she is in, is it possible for you to post a pic of her enclosure? that would help =]
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
here is the link to the thread i made... cage pic towards the bottom... =]
http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...696#post805696
it only showss 1 branch, but you get the idea, basically drilled into the branch, and the wall of the cage, and put a screw in it =] holds great to... and comes down for cleaning :D
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]

Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
thats a nice setup =]
what kind of branches are those? my younger one's cage needs new stuff... =]
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
They are the plastic kind. From Pet Smart.. or Petco I cant remember.. But they are easy to clean if there is a mess.. Plus he loves to eat hanging from them..:gj:
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
yeah, i have the vine things in my lil ones cage,
when i get some cash saved i might get one of those,

I agree on as far as the accuracy goes! I dropped a rat with the forceps once while feeding one of my IJCP's and she grabbed it before it hit the ground.
(My bloods will make you jump when they strike...you don't expect a snake that hefty to hit as hard and as fast as they do).
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
Mine likes to take his meal as he is eating it and pushes it into the ground as it hangs. I can guess it is to help him get a better grip.
-
Re: My new Coastals [Pics]
yeah, even my baby makes me jump when im feeding him =]
hes so fast lol.
