Was Thinking about it......

As far as selling goes I have a question. I have a couple of my gravid females that are going to produce this year a pastel x pastel, Axanthic x Axanthic and Spider x Super Pastel. My question is that I have paperwork from all my breeders that the sires came from and great records ( a bit OCD) :) but after reading the BOI on that other site I would not sell to many of the so called "straight shooters"! They seem to forget that innocent until proven guilty thing :confused: and god forbid if you have not been selling for 15+ years. So would a better route be to sell to close friends and breeders that i know? and skip their little fiefdom? ( i notice that once you are in a thread there you pretty much have to give up your life answering the same questions over and over)

It is your choice to sell to whom you want to. No one is stopping you, and no one is asking you to do otherwise.

I think the BOI is a great tool when used properly, but I also think it can sully some peoples reputations very badly with undue force.

You just have to take it all with a grain of salt. And also know that there may be more to the story than what is posted on the BOI.

Edit: Also, your reputation should be the top prority for you to be worried about if you plan on being forthright and a good breeder.

I'm forthright and I consider Myself a good breeder... Never had a problem with any animals I have sold or traded. But The little Girls over there try to ruin My name every chance the get.. What is that about??

If you've got people like Heather to speak up for you, even better.

If you're bitter and broken and have had your ass handed to you like jason has, more than once if I recall correctly, you may feel otherwise.

Calling me and the other regulars at Fauna a little girl, while not NEAR insulting enough to get me going, is a CLEAR indication of why you are treated the way you are.

Was it the business of the person who sent you that PM to be making such a suggestion?

No matter how new you are it's always and only up to you to decide what to charge. You may sell faster at a lower price but you may not care for speed. It's no ones business but yours.

Maybe this person was just hoping to get your prices down without having to ask you to lower them. Maybe they are competition. Maybe they just like stirring up trouble.

Price them where you will. You've got a good rep. as far as I know and others who know you will speak up for you if you are questioned. That's where we all start if we're honest.

I think you should offer your hatchlings at whatever price you deem fair.
If they don't sell due to you not being a "known breeder" then you can lower the price later on. You can lower the price at ANY time, or raise it. They are YOUR hatchlings.
If what you bred is what you listed, then you won't be selling hets, correct?
If you are selling visables, then other than not shipping after being paid, I'm not sure what you're worried about. Hets are difficult to sell when no one knows you, since they have to trust a relative stranger.
