I'm so unexperienced with this... beyond her being a wicked looking animal, I would go with Yellow belly, because there is only one trait I could point out :(

I think you may be right! My male het pied looks just like her and keeps producing babies like this. Next season I'll breed them togeather and Hopefully see something...

Re: Possible Het?
I have no guess as I have to have a cheat sheet (hunters guide) in front me :)...but I would be interested in the "why" people are making the guesses they are. What are you seeing that makes you think it is something?

Am I missing something here? Yellow belly is codominant-it can't be "het" for that. And if it is a yellow belly then you can readily tell from the belly pattern....

I was just saying that there is the head spot, and that is the only thing I can readily pick out, so I said yellow belly. It was just a shot.
Of course... our het clown has a head spot too...
Chris thought het pied...
edit: what do you think a pied ivory would look like? Another white snake? Maybe a pied with the yellow dorsal staining?

DUH!!! I quoted Connie instead of Chris....

Re: Possible Het?
Hell of a cool looking pattern. I'd say she's possible het for whatever trait the parents are het for.

Re: Possible Het?
nice female but it would be pure speculation to say what she was het for.

I'm well aware of that. That's what I meant by saying it is codominant-Jas cleared it up by noting he was quoting the wrong person in his post...He meant to indicate het pied...Which of course makes perfect sense (though a belly shot would have been nice).

yellow belly is a hetrozygous animal
het dose not mean a hidden gene it mean two different genes

Jeez-ONCE AGAIN- I'm aware of the genetics of codominants. I'm aware a yellow belly is "het" for Ivory. You are misreading not only my, but a couple of other, posts!:rolleye2:

Re: Possible Het?

Re: Possible Het?
50% Possible Normal. Just bustin your chops. Smokin girl Bro. I hope she proves.
-
Re: Possible Het?
im not buying in to the so called "markers" theory so for me personaly it is a normal....a very nice normal. until she is bred to with a pied of course. ive seen a lot of royals with the so-called het pied marker go on to produce nothing visible. i would however breed her to a pied over any other normal female without the belly markings. it would bug me if i didnt as there is always that chance.

You need to read the entire post, as John states that he produced this animal from his Het Pied male. That makes it a 50% Possible Het. Pied, no matter what angle you look at it from.

Well you need to buy your possible hets from more reputable sources, or make em' yourself.:gj:
-
Re: Possible Het?
I'd give her a 91.65483% chance that she'll prove to be het pied for you.... approximately. :)

Re: Possible Het?
So I read through the whole post and no one has mentioned what the Three markers are.
:( there are some of us out here that are still learning. What are the three markers as I have one that is 66% Pos Het Pied. I will start a new thread with pics when I get home.

Re: Possible Het?

indeed i would if i dealt in possibe hets which i dont. the only time i would deal in possible hets would be if it were a whole clutch of 66% females.

I was going to say het pied also. I produced a 66%'er last year that has the same kind of busy patern and belly marks.
